- What area do you service?
- Klickitat County Ambulance service area covers from the mouth of the White Salmon River to Trout Lake, over to Glenwood, all the way to goldendale to Mile Marker 30 on hwy 97, out towards Bickleton and Roosevelt. Please check here for our coverage map.
- Where are your stations located?
- We have three ambulance locations
- White Salmon (211 NE Skyline Drive)
- Dallesport (17 Airport Way)
- Goldendale (310 S Roosevelt St.)
- Is the ambulance service owned by the hospitals?
- No, Klickitat County Ambulance is not owned or associated with either hospital in Klickitat County. In 2012 the hospitals released ownership of the ambulance service and at that time the County Commissioners created an EMS District, which is a Special Purpose District. RCW 36.96.010.
- How do I make a Public Records Request?

- How many ambulance do you have available?
- Currently we have three full time ambulance available 24 hrs a day 7 days a week. We also have a fourth ambulance available that can be filled with an on-call crew in case the system get overwhelmed or interfacility transfers.
- How does EMS District get its funding?
- The EMS District is partially funded through direct billing for services provided and taxpayers support through the EMS Levy.
- How much is the EMS Levy?
- Our current EMS Levy is .50 / $1000, so if you own a $300,000 home your EMS tax would be $150 for the entire year. Our current levy end Dec 2024.
- What does your levy money go towards?
- Our EMS Levy money goes towards the funding of new ambulances, updated equipment, recruitment and retention of employees, the prospect of new EMS quarters and the goal of making our current on-call ambulance into a full time ambulance.
- How many 911 calls do you have a year?
- We run approximately 2,500 911 calls per year.
- Can I choose which hospital I go to?
- You do have a choice of which hospital you would like to be transported to, typically KVH, MCMC, Hood River and Skyline, with some exceptions. We cannot take you out of the gorge (such as Portland, Vancouver or Yakima) from a 911 call. We also cannot bypass the nearest hospital if you are emergent, in that moment you will need to be transported to the nearest facility.
- Do you give rides home from the hospital?
- We are not able to give you a ride home from the hospital, UNLESS, you have a medical condition that makes you non-ambulatory and bed ridden and cannot sit up in vehicles .
- What schedule do the EMS employees work?
- Each of our ambulance are staffed with one EMT and one Paramedic making it a Advanced Life Support Ambulance. Our employees work on a 48hr on 96hr off schedule.
